Greens Industries began in 1935 when Peter Green opened a workshop during the depression to earn a living by engaging in a range of mechanical and engineering related services that laid the foundation for todays performance in technically superior Tapware that are supplied in various countries around the world.
While growing up, Peters 5 children involved themselves in the business to varying degrees, however his eldest son, John spent many out of school hours at the factory honing his skills.
Prior to the 1970’s one of Greens unique strengths was in stamping and metal pressing.
In the 1970’s Greens recognized a gap in the market for quality, competitively priced taps. John, with a team of engineers set about designing their first range of Tapware and the first taps were produced in 1978 in the factory in Lake Road, Hamilton NZ.
John bought out the family business in 1984. The business developed further into single lever mixer Tapware – initially using a quality European ceramic cartridge. In 1986, Greens expanded into their current buildings and in 1993 developed their first single lever mixer cartridge. The first of their series was the QL1.
Through Research and Development, Greens have developed a world class thermostatic single lever ceramic disc cartridge. (This has internationally acclaimed unique functions). Greens pride themselves on their ability to engineer safe, economical and water conserving technologies. The variable pressure systems in the country of New Zealand have provided the best environment to develop technology suitable for all pressures.
Today John continues to manage the Research and Development team while managing international company operations. Greens market their product to the USA, Pacific Islands, UK, and Australia. Johns daughter Bronwyn now manages the Australian operations.
Greens continue to develop new technologies.
